Aciclovir 800 Tablet is an antiviral medicine used to treat or prevent infections caused by certain viruses. It is also used to prevent herpes simplex virus infections such as cold sores, genital herpes, and shingles.
Take Aciclovir 800 Tablet by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually 2 to 3 times daily. Do not take it more often than directed.

Before taking Aciclovir 800 Tablet, tell your doctor if you have liver problems, kidney problems, or heart disease.
It is best to avoid sexual intercourse during treatment with Aciclovir 800 Tablet. Do not take this medicine after the full prescribed course, even if you feel better. This medicine can make you feel dizzy or drowsy.
Using this medicine during pregnancy can harm the developing fetus. It is not known whether Aciclovir 800 Tablet passes into breast milk. This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding. It is also not recommended to take this medicine during pregnancy.
Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.

This medication is used to treat the symptoms of herpes simplex virus infection in adults and children 12 years of age and older. It works by lowering the virus's viral load in the body and preventing the infection from reproducing. Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns related to this medication or have already received it.
Nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach upset, or diarrhea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: urgent / reflux (especially of the stomach and upper right part), signs of kidney problems (such as change in the amount of urine), signs of breathing problems (such as shortness of breath), signs of electrolyte imbalance (such as fast/irregular heartbeat), signs of eye pain (such as vision changes). Get medical help right away if you have any of these rare but serious side effects: unusual / severe tired feeling/ muscle weakness, unexplained vomiting, unexplained bruising/ bleeding, signs of severe / allergic reaction (such as shortness of breath, hives).
This medication may rarely cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Get medical help right away if you develop any signs of liver disease: persistent yellowing of your eyes (including a dark yellow / pink color staining of your vision), upper / lower abdominal pain, pain with / painful swallowing (such as gas/cramps/weakness, stomach pain, bloating, stomach pain that is not controlled). If you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects, get medical help right away: symptoms of a severe (possibly fatal) stroke or a heart attack (such as stroke/perfasy with/ without right ventricular weakness/arrhythmias). Your doctor may change your dose or switch you to a lower dose if your symptoms become worse.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: severe / rare skin reactions, allergic changes (including rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, / severe trouble breathing), severe confusion, / yellowing of your eyes/skin. Drug interactionsAlcohol: If you drink alcohol with this drug, you may experience side effects. Stop taking the drug immediately and call your doctor if you drink more than 2.5 liters (5 puffs) a week (or more) without medical attention. Some people may experience side effects such as nausea, headache, / stomach discomfort. Tell your doctor right away if you drink more than 1 liter (mL) (6 puffs) a week (or more) without medical attention.
Drowsiness/reduced alertness: Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this drug affects you. Avoid alcoholic drinks and other drugs that may interact with the drugs.
