Aciclovir is an antiviral drug, and it is indicated for the treatment of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) infections, including genital herpes and herpes zoster (herpes zoster-like disease). It is also indicated for treatment of acute or recurrent herpes simplex infections (HSV-2). Aciclovir is indicated for patients with genital herpes, especially those who have an active or latent infection with HSV-1, and for the prevention or treatment of recurrent HSV-1 infections.

Aciclovir is indicated for use in adults and children (adults and children from 1 year of age):

  • Aciclovir is indicated for treatment of aciclovir suppressive therapy in adults and children (adults and children from 1 year of age):

The antiviral activity of aciclovir is similar to that of the drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors), such as oral contraceptives, and it is indicated for the treatment of patients with herpes simplex infections.

Aciclovir is indicated for use in the treatment of Herpes simplex virus infections (HSV) caused by HSV-1, including HSV-2. It is indicated in infections of the skin, mucous membranes and bone and joint (e.g. osteoarthritis, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis) or in the skin and soft tissues due to certain types of herpes viruses, including HSV-1 and -2.

Aciclovir is indicated for the treatment of genital herpes, especially the herpes simplex virus infections of the lips, genital herpes, and the external genitalia.
